{"id":720,"date":"2015-12-13T10:44:22","date_gmt":"2015-12-13T10:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/plethorathemes.com\/boilerplate\/maindemo\/?p=720"},"modified":"2018-01-22T15:17:43","modified_gmt":"2018-01-22T15:17:43","slug":"meet-the-band","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicflex.plethorathemes.com\/rockband\/2015\/12\/13\/meet-the-band\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Band"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New York City had been, arguably, the birthplace of punk rock with the\u00a0Ramones\u00a0and the scene at\u00a0CBGB\u00a0in the mid to late-1970s, but while the next generation of punks emerged in the hardcore scenes in places like Washington DC and Los Angeles in the early 80&#8217;s, NYC was initially quiet. A few bands like\u00a0The Mad\u00a0and\u00a0The Stimulators\u00a0hinted at a new direction. The Stimulators featured\u00a0Harley Flanagan\u00a0on drums and attracted some of what would become the NYHC scene to their shows. The Stimulators and the Mad also made friends with\u00a0Washington, DC&#8217;s\u00a0Bad Brains, and gave the latter places to stay in town.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>New York City would come to play a central role in the development of hardcore. An important scene finally emerged in 1981 with the emigration of the Bad Brains.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0Roger Miretof\u00a0Agnostic Front\u00a0asserts that &#8220;We started using the term &#8216;hardcore&#8217; because we wanted to separate ourselves from the druggy or artsy punk scene that was happening in New York at the time &#8230; We were rougher kids living in the streets.
